Several Injured as In-Flight Disturbance Impacts A Delta Airlines Plane into Sydney, Australia

Multiple passengers and crew have been injured after a Delta aircraft originating in LA to Sydney encountered turbulence this past Friday.

Delta Flight 41 "encountered brief turbulence" as it touched down at the Sydney airport, a representative for the carrier stated. Four flight attendants were injured.

The New South Wales Ambulance Service stated they treated five individuals, and transported three to a medical facility with relatively minor issues that comprised pain in the back and head pain. The injured were between their 30s to 70s.

The event represents the newest example of planes experiencing severe turbulence, with researchers indicating that global warming is a significant contributor.

The aircraft was carrying nearly 250 travelers and a crew of 15 on the wide-body jet, the Delta spokesperson added, adding that the plane landed "without further incident" at the airport at shortly before 7 a.m. on Friday morning.
