19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his first championship for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging period, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-time coach Cervara.
Now training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.
This represents his first championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from March of the previous year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has won 21 victories at 21 distinct events.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my children at once, so to win a title is really nice," said tennis professional Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his past six championship matches, including in Halle previously this season.
Medvedev's counter-punching play style and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had led some to wonder if his ability to compete at the elite level was concluded.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform positively, supported by an improved service.
The champion recovered from a break down in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair exchanged break points in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden professional title, took control to push for a decider.
He defended four initial opportunities in a close final set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner earned the title with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman unable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
